Payment & Billing

When is rent due?
In advance, on the due day stated in your Rental Agreement, without us needing to invoice you. Leases run month to month.
Will my rent go up?
The rate you move in at is locked for 12 months from your move-in date. That covers the base monthly rent only, not insurance, fees or extras. After the first year we give at least 30 days' written notice before any change.
What happens if I pay late?
A late fee applies once payment has not been received for the period set out in your Rental Agreement. The fee schedule attached to that agreement is the authority on the amount.
How can I pay?
Online through the tenant payment portal, which opens in a new tab, or by calling the office.
Where do I manage my account?
At uhaul.com, using the same sign-in as the payment portal. Your rental agreement, autopay and contact details all live there. If you have not set a password yet, create an account first. Both links open in a new tab.
Which payment methods do you take, and is there autopay?
Please call the office on (806) 589‑1472. We would rather you heard the current answer than read one here that has changed.

Move-In Process

How do I get started?
Pick a size, then call the office or send an enquiry. The Size Guide shows every unit we rent with its current rate, and the Storage Calculator turns a description of what you are storing into a starting size.
What happens on move-in day?
You sign a Rental Agreement for your specific unit, choose an insurance option, and receive your own gate access credential. Leases are month to month, so you are not committing beyond the month you are in.
What should I bring?
Photo identification, and payment for the first month. Whether you bring your own lock or buy one here is worth confirming when you call, so you are not caught out on the day.
Can somebody else access my unit?
Only people named on your Rental Agreement's authorised access list. Do not share your gate credential with anyone else.

Access & Security

When can I get to my unit?
Gate hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week.
When is the office open?
Office hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. Call ahead before visiting, as staffing can vary.
How do I get in?
With the individual electronic gate credential issued to you at move-in. Access is limited to current tenants in good standing, and can be restricted if an account falls into default.
How is the property protected?
A gated, fenced and walled perimeter, video surveillance across the site, lighting on the units, and buildings that are kept clean and maintained.

Insurance & Protection

Are my belongings insured?
Not by us. CapRock does not insure the contents of your unit and is not a warehouseman or bailee, so cover is your responsibility.
Do I have to have insurance?
Your Rental Agreement asks you to choose one of three at move-in: a low cost policy available here, your own policy, or a documented decision to decline.
Might I already be covered?
Possibly. Some home and contents policies extend to belongings kept off the property. It is worth asking your insurer before paying for a second policy.
What is not covered anywhere?
The categories no self storage accepts: flammable, explosive or hazardous materials, perishable food, anything living, and anything illegal.

Move-Out Process

How much notice do I give?
At least 30 days in writing before the date you intend to leave. Tell the office as soon as you know, so nothing runs on unnecessarily.
What do I need to do?
Empty the unit, sweep it out, and remove your own lock. Rent and charges continue until your move-out duties are complete or we accept the space back in writing.
Can I come back later?
Yes. Month to month means you can rent again whenever you need to, subject to what is available at the time.

Packing & Moving Tips

How should I pack?
Label every box on at least two sides, use boxes of a similar size so they stack squarely, and put the heavy ones at the bottom. There are eight more suggestions on the Storage Tips page.
How should I load the unit?
Leave an aisle down the middle so you can reach the back without unstacking everything, and keep what you will want soonest nearest the door.
Do you sell boxes and supplies?
Yes, on site, along with carts and dollies to borrow on the day.
What about furniture?
Cover it with cloth sheets or moving blankets rather than plastic, which traps moisture, and keep everything off the floor on pallets or boards.
